Planning Retirement Strategy
Susan Nelson Hopkins
You should be thinking about your future just as much as you think about your present.
Wait, that assumes a lot. Do you live paycheck to paycheck... barely making ends meet, or just having a good old time?
Guess what, how in the world are you going to make it with no job and nothing but Social Security... and you probably won't be employee material with all that gray hair (or no hair at all)!
It is absolutely essential to prepare for life's little "bumps" so you'll have money to enjoy yourself when it comes time to retire.

Consider your investments... With so many things to invest in, search for information that will help you choose those will that maximize your savings.
Have an estate plan... Where are you going to live? Are you going to keep your family home, or move to another area? These are all things that you need to consider so you will have enough funds available for the lifestyle you choose.
Think about your Will... Are your affairs in order so your family is taken care of when you pass on? This is an essential (but often neglected or even dreaded) part of successful retirement planning strategy.
Do you have the right insurances?... There are a few different kinds that you should consider, so it will be helpful to review them with your attorney and insurance carrier. Take care of all this before it's necessary.
Take care of your business agreements and plans... Make sure that you are all set when it comes to any partnerships or business deals that you are part of.
Be sure you are investing in the right annuities... You need to be sure that you are placing your trust with someone who knows what they are doing, and who has the right business sense to put your money in investments that will grow in value.
These are just a few strategies to consider for retirement planning. You also need to make sure that you keep up with new plans as they become available. A trusted financial planner can help you stay on target.
So... by all means, pay attention to today's spending habits, but don't stop there. It's absolutely crucial to plan ahead so you'll have money to spend later.
Your well-being during retirement depends on it!
